Emmaus Walk update

Hello Llano Estacado Emmaus Community

Hope you are all doing well! The men’s walk was awesome, and the pilgrims who came to community answered the two questions during the meeting. Everyone was blessed by their testimonies. The men are already setting up their own reunion groups. This is just a note to let you know the procedures for the upcoming Women’s Walk June 24th through June 27th. The lay director, Dawn Moore and her team are excited and enthusiastic to work this walk. It will be a great walk; I am sure the “Best Walk Ever”Send off will be outside the patio. The sponsor will drop off their pilgrim at the sliding door and a team member will take them to their room and then return them to outside the patio. Then it will be handled as usual, calling their name to go in the patio. The sponsors hour will be held in the dining room. Please enter through the kitchen door down the ramp. Please be cautious and respect others with masks and social distancing when inside the Mercy Center.

Candlelight will be held in the grassy area on the south side of the building. We will not have the community part of the meeting with communion but will have our candles and sing to the pilgrims as usual. Be sure the town you live in is on the list. As the pilgrims sing to us, we will walk in front of them and exit toward the patio and the parking lot outside the kitchen. Please everyone come to candlelight. Let us have the grassy area filled with the community and so many candles that it is almost daylight.

Closing will be held on the patio. The sponsor only can enter through the Meditation Garden door and go down the hall to the conference room and can watch closing on the television. We are limited on the number we can allow in the conference room so overflow can gather in the Meditation Garden where we will have audio only. Please, still bring your pilgrim to the next community meeting to give their testimony during community. It is the sponsors obligation to bring their pilgrim to the first community meeting after the walk.

Community will be at Lakeridge United Methodist Church 4701 82nd Street in the basement. I am excited to announce we will be having potluck and fellowship. So, please make your favorite dish and bring it to share with the community. The babe chick meeting will be at 5:45, with the meal starting at 6 and Community starting at 7:15. The youth room was almost full this month so let’s fill it at the July 1st Community Meeting. I hope to see you there.
