Good evening community,

Can you believe September is upon us? As I sit on the back porch, I am once again reflecting on this past year as Chrysalis LD. What a wonderful tool God has provided us with Emmaus. The main goal of Emmaus is to make stronger Christians, and for them to plug into the “Church,” thus making a stronger Church.

That’s all fine and dandy, but we’re losing out on our pilgrims/caterpillars. They get so involved in the”Church”, they do not have the time for Emmaus. Forgetting what placed them there in the first place. Basically we are losing out on volunteers to serve on teams, board=s, and community.

This past weekend on Young Women’s #41, there were actually 3 “new” clergy, which is awesome!! New blood to help the “regulars” out. If I offend, I am sorry, but I have never been a good PC person, so here I go.

Agape Love – to me that means “serve for others, nothing less”. If you want self recognition then you are doing it for the wrong reasons, and basically we don’t need you. This past year has been hard for me, because I prefer the behind the scenes. I like watching God work on the pilgrims, and team.

It’s amazing what can get accomplished if we just get out of God’s way, and let Him work. To be on the board, or team, should be the main rule. If you are in it for anything other than to honor God, then you are in it for the wrong reasons.

With that being said, we have some Chrysalis Flights coming up: Young Men #33 with Dustin Johnson on September 14-17; Young Ladies #42 with Ashdon Hancock on January 4-7, 2018; Young Men’s #34 with Ryan Rathman on May 3-6, 2018. Please lift these flights up in prayer. If you feel led to help with Chrysalis, by all means come on. As you can tell, they’re not all that picky, look at me.

One more note as I continue to scatter shoot my way through this letter. Chrysalis caterpillars are all scholarshipped, as well as college age team members. To provide these scholarships, we have a fundraiser dinner. This year’s dinner will be December 9, 2017 at the Bayer museum. The meal will be a steak, pork loin, or prime rib, your choice, with sides. We will also be hosting a raffle for several items. Watch for details in upcoming newsletters and community meetings.

Good evening community,

As I sit on my back porch giving thanks for the much needed rain that our Father sent, I’m reminded of the BLESSINGS we receive each and every day. One of those blessings is Emmaus, and the different programs it has – be it Kairos, Epiphany, Walks, or Chrysalis flights.

We are starting our Fall campaign with Chrysalis flights. The young ladies flight will be held August 31st through September 3rd with Susan Gillespie leading the flight. The young men’s flight will be held September 14th thru the 17th with Dustin Johnson leading the flight. The young ladies team has come together and the young men’s team is coming together. Now we ask you, as a community, to fill these slots up with caterpillars. Remember, this is no-cost for the caterpillars. It’s all scholarships, so there should be no reason for money to stop a prospective caterpillars.

So if you know of a young lady or young man between the ages of 18 to 24, sign them up. I promise they will be thoroughly blessed, as will the sponsors.

Hello community,

 Looks like the third time is the charm. This weekend May 4-7, young mens chrysalis 32 takes place led by Justin Smith, and Winfield Davenport. You still have time to sign up participants. Remember it’s an all EXPENSE PAID WEEKEND.

This team has been put together in 30 days. Yes it is a unique situation, but sometimes God calls us to work outside of our comfort zone. He has put together an awesome team, that is willing to oblige. Also, if you feel led, the outside team could use some come-and-goers for agape runs through out the weekend.

Hello Llano Emmaus community,

 We have a young men’s flight coming up March 9-12. We are in need of pilgrims. Plain and simple. It’s an ALL EXPENSES PAID weekend,just get them to Mercy Center on the 9th. The week following is spring break, so what better way to send them into the break coming off an awesome weekend of God’s Love.

 Get your applications turned into Jonathan Bloxom by the 7th.

 The spring Chrysalis flights are halfway completed. The young Ladies had an awesome weekend in January. The young men’s has been moved to March 9-12. Under Milton Schober’s watch. There is room for young men ages 18-25. The cost is FREE, thanks to some wonderful contributors. This will be an awesome weekend as well.
