September is a busy, busy month for Chrysalis. We have two journeys this month and would love to see everyone be a part of one or both weekends and be a blessing to the young people who will be in attendance. Donna Burt and her team are ready to love on the 21 Caterpillars (so far) that are signed up for Young Women’s Journey #37, September 3-6. Please be in prayer for these young ladies as well as the team that when Jesus shows up, lives will be changed forever. If you have never attended a Chrysalis Candlelight, I would encourage you to come to St. Joseph’s Church Saturday night. And I promise you will have your socks blessed off!
Jason Lindeman and his team are also working very diligently getting ready for Young Men’s Journey #29 which will be September 17-20. The team is just about set and they are excited to see where God will take this Journey. Be in prayer for the addition of so many more Caterpillars to be signed up, we have to have an overflow to the January Journey! And just a reminder, all the Chrysalis Journeys are all on a scholarship basis and there is no cost to send a young woman or man on a Chrysalis weekend. If you have questions on how to get an application or scholarship form, please let me know and I will get you the information.
I mentioned this last time, but I wanted to, again, put a bug in your ear about our Annual Scholarship Dinner. It will be held December 12 at the Bayer Crop Science Museum of Agriculture. It is come and go from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 and you have a choice of Prime Rib, Pork Loin or Steak with all the fixins, drinks and entertainment. I realize Graduation is that weekend also, but what better way to feed family & friends that have come into town, than to take them to a great meal while helping to replenish our scholarship fund. Please see any Chrysalis Board member for tickets or more information. All funds go directly into our Scholarship fund for future Journeys. I thank you in advance for your support.
It is that time of year again, where the reins of leadership for the Chrysalis Community will change hands. Kim Smith will be the new Lay Director starting this month, and it could not be in better hands. Being the Chrysalis Community Lay Director this past year has been an amazing experience. I’m really not that good in front of people or organizing anything. But with God’s help and the help of great people, this past year was a snap. Please continue to pray for the Llano Estacado Chrysalis Community, the board and everyone involved in this ministry. That it expands and exceeds anything that we here on earth can expect. It has been an honor and a privilege to have served in this capacity, and will always be a wonderful experience to look back on!
Again, if you have any questions about Chrysalis, please let us know and I will do whatever we can to get them answered.
Fly with Christ!
