Hello everyone.  I would like to share with you my favorite verse.  It is Isaiah 41:10; “Fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”   Put your trust in him during this time of struggle.

Well, April 1st is here, April fool’s day and no fooling I am excited to announce that I am your new Community Lay Director.  I look forward to serving the community.  My theme for the coming year is “Get excited about Llano Emmaus.  I believe God wants to restore the Llano Emmaus Community to what it once was.  Do you remember when you completed your first walk, how excited and joyous you were?  Well, you need to get back in The Emmaus Community and get involved. You need to send your family members and friends on a Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, or Kairos Outside or get involved in Kairos or Epiphany and to attend Send Off, Candlelight, and listen to their testimonies on Sunday afternoon.  I would like to see the Church filled to capacity at these events and at our monthly community meetings.   I would like to see a waiting list to be able to go on one of these walks.  It is time to get back involved.

The Upper Room sent us a notification that we are to cancel all group activities for 8 weeks from March 16 until May 11th.  Hopefully this will all be over by then and we will be working towards some normalcy.  Therefore, we have cancelled the community meetings for April and May.  The Llano Estacado Emmaus board will be discussing the postponement of the walks that fall into this time frame at our board meeting that will be handled by conference call.  I pray that everyone stays healthy and in good spirits during this time.

If you have just completed your first walk, you now can work on the outside team within the first year and the board is discussing allowing you to work as an Assistant Table Leader on the inside team.  So if you receive a call to work, please do not hesitate, but get involved.  If you have already worked a walk, please respect the others opportunity to work. Once you have worked a walk you MUST wait a year before you can work another one.

If anything changes or we get a new directive, I will let you know.  May God richly bless each one of you in a special way.

Sincerely,

Troy Brooks
