Hello Llano Estacado Emmaus Community,
Well, today is April Fools Day. I hope you have not been fooled. Of course, there are all the old tricks, like in a large office, giving someone a phone message to call Mr. Lion with a number to the Zoo. Since I have worked out of my home office for the past 16 years, and am now retired, I have not had anyone but my wife to try to fool and she isn’t very gullible. I pray you are having a wonderful week.
I watch David Jeremiah every Sunday morning and his messages have been “Moving from Fear to Fear Not.” His messages have been inspiring. So, the scripture I want to share this month is one I have shared before: Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
The following is a list of walks that are coming up:
Men’s Walk 107 – May 13-16
Women’s Walk 153 – June 24-27
Women’s Walk 154 – July 15-18
Please get your pilgrims signed up for these walks.
The following is a weekend for Kairos Outside
Kairos Outside 20 – April 29 – May 2
We are praying that the upcoming Men’s and Women’s walks will be at The Mercy Center. The Kairos Outside Weekend will be at The Ark in Amherst.
Please be in prayer for these walks and weekends and furnish agape. Please plan on attending send off, candlelight, and closing and show your support.
We need to fill the following positions:
Fund Raiser Coordinator
Pray Vigil Coordinator
Please be in prayer and if you feel that one of these positions is a fit for you, notify one of the board members.
Our next Community Meeting will be April 8th at Lakeridge United Methodist Church 4701 82nd Street. Bring your own meal and drink and socialize with all your old friends at 6 pm. Babe Chick meeting will be at 6 pm. Community Meeting will be at 7:15 pm.
Lakeridge United Methodist Church has graciously put our community on their monthly schedule. We will be having our Community Meetings at their church the rest of the year. This is a tremendous blessing as it is exceedingly difficult to find a church that will allow us to meet. Not because we are a bad group, but due to the virus pandemic.
Well, since the board decided that myself as the Community Lay Director and the remaining board will stay in place for another year, you will have to put up with us another year and that is not an April Fools joke. It has been a struggle all year to have Community meetings and walks. I guess they think I have not had enough experience, so they want me to stay on. The board has been great to work with and I am looking forward to an easy year!!
May God richly bless each one of you in a special way and may you prosper you to be in health.
Troy Brooks
Community Lay Director.
