Chrysalis – April 2014

Tintoretto - Supper EmmausI want to give a huge shout out to the community for pouring out support for Lynn Smith and the boys of Chrysalis Journey #27. We were short on food and agape at the beginning but you guys truly blessed with providing an abundance that is rarely equaled. Praise God we had a salvation, deliverance and life transformations… the effects of which will continue to ring out into the spiritual world as a testimony to Christ’s healing power, majesty and steadfast love. If you have never had the privilege of serving on a Chrysalis please don’t hesitate to email me and we will see if we can’t provide a way for you to share in the experience.

Thank you to all who prayed for my father and his health problems as he was being treated by doctors for health problems they were uncertain they could fix. We all knew that they didn’t have to figure out how to fix it if we just asked a greater physician and The Lord’s abilities coupled with your prayers did not disappoint. Please continue to pray for his sustained health and complete healing and strength to fully return.

In times of struggle and uncertainty I can’t imagine living life without my Emmaus family and I long for the day when the woes of this life disappear and we all partake in our eternal 4th days together.

Love and blessings to you all 😀

Chrysalis – March 2014

betenboughPraise GOD!!!! March is off to a great start with a huge blessing for our community. We owe a huge thank you to Betenbough Homes for donating $9,000 to our scholarship fund. This will send 60 young people on a walk this year. We are so stoked to be able to continue offering full scholarships to any college student who needs it.

March 27th through the 30th we have a young men’s Chrysalis taking place at the Mercy Center. Please be in prayer for Lynn Smith as he and his team continue to prepare for the work that God has set before them. If you know any young man that needs to be on this walk then please get those applications in pronto. If they need funds, we will take care of it. Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to work towards sharing this experience with every young man and woman that God has called to partake in Chrysalis Journeys.

Blessings,
Jared Chrestman

Chrysalis – February 2014

Chrysalis logoThanks for all the support on the January College Women’s Chrysalis. All of the reports were fantastic and a big thank you goes out to Kim Smith for doing a fantastic job and for allowing God to use that whole team to reach so many young women. Please be in prayer as Kim’s husband Lynn Smith as he and his team are still preparing for the Young Men’s Chrysalis #26 on March 27th- 30th.

We still have plenty of room available so make sure you sponsor someone. Full scholarships are available. We appreciate all the help and support that you as the community give and couldn’t be more blessed than to work along side you in this ministry. Have a great February!

Chrysalis – January 2014

2014 card2014 is already upon us and I am excited to see what God is going to do this year. A special thanks to all of you who supported our fundraising dinner, we could not have done it without your support. Because of this awesome community many young men and women will get to experience the love that Christ has for them on a Chrysalis Journey.

Don’t forget that January 9-12 we have just such a Journey for young college age women taking place at the Mercy Center. Please don’t hesitate to send in applications because we have plenty of room. As always prayer for Lay Director Kim Smith would be highly appreciated. As most of you know it is not easy to take on this responsibility and your prayers go a long way towards encouraging and spiritually protecting her team.

See you folks at community on January 2!

Chrysalis – December 2013

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone once again and I hope every one of you thoroughly enjoyed it. No down time is in store however as we move into yet another busy Christmas season. No matter how hectic your schedules become, please remember to pray for Kim Smith as she continues to prepare along with her team to embark on their Chrysalis Journey on January 9-12. We are very excited to start the next year off by watching God bless each of the young ladies that will attend. If any of you know of a college age girl 18-25 years of age, there is still time to sign them up so please don’t hesitate.

Also please be in prayer for Kim Smith’s husband Lynn Smith as he prepares for the boy’s Journey in March. It’s been a special thing to watch this husband and wife duo help each other prepare for these upcoming Journeys and we praise God that this special team answered God’s calling to serve in this capacity.

Prime Rib DinnerOur Chrysalis Fundraiser Banquet is still happening on December 14th at the Animal Sciences building across the street from the United Spirit Arena. It will take place between the hours of 5 and 9. Tickets are $20 each. If you have purchased tickets already please make sure you bring them with you. If for some reason you have been unable to to catch up with somebody selling them don’t worry, you will be allowed to pay at the door. All of the proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund so that college students who can’t afford a Chrysalis experience don’t have to miss out. I can’t think of a better way to help young men and women increase the quality of their personal relationships with Christ than to help send them on one of these Journeys, so please if you can help fund them in any way it would be most appreciated. Also If you want to help us serve food that night it would be most welcome. We need all hands on deck especially from our younger folks. If you would like to volunteer or simply have any questions, please email me at jaredchrestman@yahoo.com.

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:10-14 ESV)

God bless you guys and gals and have a very Merry Christmas 🙂
