Whew! It’s been hot, hasn’t it? I’m so thankful it is only temporary, just like things of this world. So much is going on in the world today, it is easy to become anxious and worried about the future. As I read in my devotional book Jesus Calling, Jesus doesn’t just say do not worry, he commands us to not worry. As Corinthians 12:9 says,” But he said to me,’My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” So as we finish out the summer of 2016, let’s remember to trust him one day at a time in our anxious moments.
We have some exciting events to look forward to; coming up next month, Yvonne Allred is gearing up for the Young Ladies Journey starting September 1-4. There is still room if you have a young lady between the ages of 18-25 wanting to be blessed. Applications can be downloaded from the Emmaus website and sent to Celia Miller. Likewise, Greg Schilling is preparing for the Young Men’s Journey starting September 15-18. There is room on that journey as well. Applications can be sent to Jonathan Bloxom. Please pray about those special young adults you can ask to go on these amazing journeys. All caterpillars are on scholarships, so money can’t be an issue.

Hello, May!! I don’t know about you, but I am ready for warmer weather. I love the newness of all things, flowers blooming, grass turning green, trees coming out, birds singing, new calves running in the field, and sweet baby kittens. Yes, we live on a farm. New life, what a precious thing, not only in just being born, but reborn! Thank you Jesus, for loving us enough to die on the cross for us! Romans 5:8, ”But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
I can’t believe it is March! We would like to invite all of you to our fundraiser at McAlisters on 82nd street, March 1st. We could make it one big reunion night! We all love to visit and eat, so let’s do it and raise money for the college journeys. All money raised goes towards scholarships for the caterpillars. We want to thank you in advance for coming and supporting Chrysalis.
Happy New Year, I’m sorry you didn’t get a hello from me last month! The way this year has started off, God has reminded me many times how I need to be still and listen to Him. Our family has already had lots going on, and yet we can see God is all over our situations! I love how he shows us HIS plan is much bigger and better than ours, especially in the hard times.
No one wants to go through difficult periods alone. No one likes to stand up and be the lone voice. We want to know someone has our back or is standing with us. We carry out our responsibilities better when we encourage one another. As we enter the Christmas season, we can strengthen our relationships when we offer our support and encouragement to others. Our ultimate calling is to lead others to place of greater commitment to God.
