Chrysalis – July 2014

Jared Chrestman smallThanks to everybody that came out to support the Chrysalis fundraiser at Blue Sky. We don’t have the official numbers in yet but we were told that our turn out was exceptional and we may have set a record. You guys are amazing supporters and this community wouldn’t be possible without all your prayers and interaction.

TheJuly2014 high school flights in July are in full swing and the teams are continuing to prepare for what God will do in the lives of all those young people. Pray for Yvonne and Jason daily as well as the teams and their families and please sign up your high schoolers and spread the word.

We currently have not found a replacement Lay Director for our September Boys Journey the 11-14th. If you have spent some time working Chrysalis events and meet a few requirements you might just be eligible. If the Lord is tugging at your heart strings and you think this might be a position he’s calling you to please contact me and we’ll talk.

Blessings,
Jared Chrestman

Chrysalis – June 2014

Blue Sky logoPraise God for another month come and gone and another month upon us with new opportunity to serve him with all of our heart and soul. Praise him for the rain and the green grass everywhere!

Thursday June 26th we are having a fundraiser for our Chrysalis scholarship fund at both Blue Sky restaurants in Lubbock. All you have to do is show up during regular business hours and tell the cashier your ordering food to support the Chrysalis community and they will donate 20% of the proceeds to our community. It’s very important that you specifically mention Chrysalis though or it will not count. They have two locations you can choose from.

– 3216 4th st (just east of Indiana)
– 4416 98th (intersection at Quaker and 98th)

Please tell your friends and family to help us out that day by participating. Your help is greatly appreciated.

On another note please be in prayer for our high school flights in July. We need mature Christian youth that have yet to experience what an Emmaus weekend is all about. Spread the word and pray for Yvonne Alred and Heath Gary as they prepare to serve as stewards over both walks.

Prayer is the most important part of a spiritually healthy community and I want to encourage each and everyone of you to spend time daily lifting up the needs of our community; praying for the unleashing the power of Holy Spirit upon our members, affiliate churches and pastors, future pilgrims and our city and surrounding towns. Never has there been a greater privilege given to man than the right to stand before God boldly on behalf of the needs of men.

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,” ~ Ephesians 6:18

“Those born of prayer are the saviors of a country, and those saturated with prayer give life and impetus to the Church. Under God, they are the saviors and helpers of both Church and country.” – E.M. Bounds (The Weapon Of Prayer)

Chrysalis – May 2014

This month we have Yvonne Allred and Heath Gary kicking into high gear and preparing for the high school flights at the end of July. Please be in prayer as God leads and directs them in the planning process. In the mean time please help out by prayerfully sponsoring high schoolers who need to participate. If they have completed their freshman year then they are eligible.

The girls flight will July 24th-27th and the boys flight will be July 31st-August 3rd.

We appreciate all the support and prayer and I hope you have a great month !

Chrysalis – April 2014

Tintoretto - Supper EmmausI want to give a huge shout out to the community for pouring out support for Lynn Smith and the boys of Chrysalis Journey #27. We were short on food and agape at the beginning but you guys truly blessed with providing an abundance that is rarely equaled. Praise God we had a salvation, deliverance and life transformations… the effects of which will continue to ring out into the spiritual world as a testimony to Christ’s healing power, majesty and steadfast love. If you have never had the privilege of serving on a Chrysalis please don’t hesitate to email me and we will see if we can’t provide a way for you to share in the experience.

Thank you to all who prayed for my father and his health problems as he was being treated by doctors for health problems they were uncertain they could fix. We all knew that they didn’t have to figure out how to fix it if we just asked a greater physician and The Lord’s abilities coupled with your prayers did not disappoint. Please continue to pray for his sustained health and complete healing and strength to fully return.

In times of struggle and uncertainty I can’t imagine living life without my Emmaus family and I long for the day when the woes of this life disappear and we all partake in our eternal 4th days together.

Love and blessings to you all 😀

Chrysalis – March 2014

betenboughPraise GOD!!!! March is off to a great start with a huge blessing for our community. We owe a huge thank you to Betenbough Homes for donating $9,000 to our scholarship fund. This will send 60 young people on a walk this year. We are so stoked to be able to continue offering full scholarships to any college student who needs it.

March 27th through the 30th we have a young men’s Chrysalis taking place at the Mercy Center. Please be in prayer for Lynn Smith as he and his team continue to prepare for the work that God has set before them. If you know any young man that needs to be on this walk then please get those applications in pronto. If they need funds, we will take care of it. Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to work towards sharing this experience with every young man and woman that God has called to partake in Chrysalis Journeys.

Blessings,
