Chrysalis – December 2013

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone once again and I hope every one of you thoroughly enjoyed it. No down time is in store however as we move into yet another busy Christmas season. No matter how hectic your schedules become, please remember to pray for Kim Smith as she continues to prepare along with her team to embark on their Chrysalis Journey on January 9-12. We are very excited to start the next year off by watching God bless each of the young ladies that will attend. If any of you know of a college age girl 18-25 years of age, there is still time to sign them up so please don’t hesitate.

Also please be in prayer for Kim Smith’s husband Lynn Smith as he prepares for the boy’s Journey in March. It’s been a special thing to watch this husband and wife duo help each other prepare for these upcoming Journeys and we praise God that this special team answered God’s calling to serve in this capacity.

Prime Rib DinnerOur Chrysalis Fundraiser Banquet is still happening on December 14th at the Animal Sciences building across the street from the United Spirit Arena. It will take place between the hours of 5 and 9. Tickets are $20 each. If you have purchased tickets already please make sure you bring them with you. If for some reason you have been unable to to catch up with somebody selling them don’t worry, you will be allowed to pay at the door. All of the proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund so that college students who can’t afford a Chrysalis experience don’t have to miss out. I can’t think of a better way to help young men and women increase the quality of their personal relationships with Christ than to help send them on one of these Journeys, so please if you can help fund them in any way it would be most appreciated. Also If you want to help us serve food that night it would be most welcome. We need all hands on deck especially from our younger folks. If you would like to volunteer or simply have any questions, please email me at jaredchrestman@yahoo.com.

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:10-14 ESV)

God bless you guys and gals and have a very Merry Christmas 🙂
