Hello Emmaus Community and welcome to Spring! It seems like just a few weeks ago we were dealing with snow and ice, and now the plants and trees are blooming, Spring Break is behind us, and the lawn needs mowing, again. I’m especially glad to report that Mercy Center is fully open and free from Covid-related restrictions. We have definitely entered a new season.

A special THANK YOU goes out to the women and men who have served during the last two years on the Kairos, Chrysalis, Kairos Outside, and Emmaus boards, as well as those who led Walks, Journeys, and served on teams. Your adaptability, grace, and love led this community through some very challenging times.

In his March newsletter, Troy Brooks encouraged us to re-engage and take ownership of our community. I echo that notion with these three questions. Are you ready to say yes when you get the call to be a part of a Walk Team? Who is the Holy Spirit asking you to sponsor? Who needs to hear about Jesus from you? I believe the new season we’ve entered is more than just Spring. I believe it is a season of full Walks, waiting lists, and a burgeoning, vibrant Emmaus community. All leading to men, women, and children stepping deeper into their identity and inheritance as children of our Lord.

Our next Men’s Walk (#110) is April 7th through 10th and will be led by Tom Clark.

Our next Young Men’s Chrysalis is April 28th through May 1st and will be led by Ryan Rathman.

Our next Women’s Walk (#158) is June 23rd through 26th and will be led by Madeline Thompson.

Our next community meeting is Thursday, April 14th at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, 4701 82nd Street in the basement. Emmaus Board meeting is at 5:30, Babe Chick meeting is at 5:45, meal is at 6:00 (please bring food to share), followed by the community meeting at 7:15 pm.

“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen! “(Hebrews 13:20-21)
